The basic function of the UPS battery cabinet and battery rack is to accommodate and protect the battery pack. The structure must ensure that a relatively large storage space is reserved and sufficient strength is met, taking into account the saving of layout space.

  Introduction to UPS battery cabinet and battery rack

  The UPS battery cabinet can safely and beautifully fit batteries inside, and it can also save space. The distribution cabinet configured for UPS is generally used for UPS output distribution, so the UPS distribution box is generally a UPS output distribution box. It can control power distribution units, rack mounted power distribution units, and central power distribution, making it easy to manage.

  The UPS input and output power distribution cabinet includes an input power distribution cabinet, a UPS, and an output power distribution cabinet. The output is input to the UPS through a cable. After the UPS is aligned and stored, it becomes a stable three-phase electrical output. The output is output to external loads for power supply through the cable through the output power distribution cabinet.   1、 Power distribution requirements

  For the input and output wiring of the machine, the user electrician should connect it in advance and pull it to the machine placement point on the installation site to reserve a certain length (generally reserve a length of 1-1.5m), so as to facilitate the smooth installation of the machine upon arrival. For installations that require factory personnel, users should be prepared before the factory can send personnel to set out.

  2、 Selection of inlet and outlet wire diameter

  The selection of the input and output wire diameters of the machine should not be lower than the national electricity safety standards.

  3、 Key points of wiring

  All input and output copper core wires should preferably be multi core flexible wires, which is convenient for user wiring and machine wiring. The underground wiring for machine input and output shall be sheathed with metal materials.

  4、 Safety grounding

  Check whether the grounding resistance of the grounding wire meets national standards, which is beneficial to the safe operation of the machine and lightning protection.

  5、 Balanced electricity consumption

  The power distribution of three-phase power in the user distribution box and cabinet should be balanced as much as possible. If the distribution difference is too large, it can cause excessive neutral line (zero line) current and high zero to ground voltage, which can cause unsafe machine operation and even lead to fire.

  Precautions for UPS battery rack installation

  ● Operating environment: UPS battery racks and EPS should not be placed in a humid, dirty, and non air convection environment; Small UPS should not be stacked directly on the ground, and a cushion should be provided at the bottom to prevent moisture condensation inside the machine in spring! Medium and large machines are best placed in dedicated machine rooms, and a good operating environment can greatly extend the service life of the machine and various loads on the user.

  ● Ventilation/load bearing safety: The machine should be placed so that the air inlet/outlet duct of the machine is not less than 30 centimeters from the wall to facilitate heat dissipation of the machine! For batteries equipped with medium and large UPS long delay models, it is also necessary to consider the bearing pressure of the floor.

  ● Lightning protection requirements: For UPS and EPS users in suburban and open areas, due to the lack of high-rise buildings and the reliance on overhead lines for power transmission, overhead lines are prone to lightning strikes during thunderstorm seasons. Users should install a dedicated high-power lightning protector at the input front end of the machine to effectively avoid damage to the equipment and user loads caused by lightning.

  ● Preliminary installation inspection: Before installing medium-sized and large machines, open the machine door panel and check whether each circuit board, wiring, DC capacitor, fuse, module screws, wires, mechanisms, transformers, etc. inside the machine are loose or falling off.

  What are the common sizes of UPS battery cabinets?

  There is no standard for this. This specification varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. It is recommended that you choose based on how many batteries your UPS requires. Common UPS batteries include 8-section cabinets, 16-section cabinets, 20-section cabinets, and 32-section cabinets, with 8, 16, 20, and 32 100AH batteries respectively. If the number of batteries below 50AH is doubled, if batteries larger than 100AH need to be placed, they need to be customized, and generally are not available in stock.

  General principles for use of UPS battery cabinet

  First of all, we understand that the characteristic of UPS power supply is its strong impact resistance, so we can pay attention to some issues when starting up. Instead of turning on all the load contents at the same time, we can first put them in bypass operation, then turn on the loads one by one, and finally open the UPS panel to put the entire system in inverter operation;

  After the startup is completed, the shutdown sequence is generally to turn off the load one by one, and then turn off the UPS panel. This allows the entire UPS battery to be in a bypass state, using a charger to charge the battery pack; Secondly, when using the UPS power supply, do not allow the entire load to be too large, which may cause damage to the UPS and bring some losses to our users;

  The above is about the use of backup UPS power supply. Next, regarding the use of long-term UPS power supply, it is better to use an external battery pack to extend the power supply time. However, it is important to note that if a machine is installed or relocated, it needs to be reconnected.
